Claire 

I was first introduced to yoga back in 2000 and was hooked after the first few classes. I started feeling a deep sense of joy and peace. My body felt lengthened, my muscles relaxed, my mind alert; I felt peaceful.

My goal as a teacher is that my students discover yoga as a means to improve their health but also as a path to inner joy and self fulfillment because yoga is a journey of self-discovery. I believe that yoga is something which the practitioner should hold very dear, it teaches us so much about the whole picture. Both universal and individual. It is a wonderful journey of discovery one which we choose to uncover with our practice, we learn how to grow spiritually, mentally and physically. Yoga is indeed a joining, of all that is external to all that is internal, of all that is individual to all that is universal.

Brief Description About Vinyasa Flow and Yoga Ecstatic Dance:

Vinyasa Flow - The word “vinyasa” means aligning breath with movement. Whenever we lengthen the breath in yoga, we step closer towards serenity. During this vinyasa class, we will strengthen and tone the whole body. We’ll work through backbends, side body exercises, deep twists and forward folds with the intention to awaken and nourish the whole body. The class ends with a 10 minute guided meditation to allow the body to reap the benefits of the practice in a state of relaxation. Modifications are also given to make this class accessible to all levels while learning multiple alignment techniques for every stage of each pose.

Teacher's Info

Teacher Biography:

Isobelle (more fondly known as Bek) began her yoga journey in January 2013, and fell in love with the practice right after her first Savasana. A year of consistent Ashtanga practice later, she began to see and feel the remarkable changes yoga has brought to the overall quality of her life. Aside from wanting to deepen her self-practice, it was the desire to share yoga’s countless benefits to family and friends that made her want to become a yoga teacher.

Between 2015 and 2016, Bek completed 300 hours of yoga teacher training under the guidance of her teachers from It’s Yoga in Indonesia and Thailand. She currently teaches Ashtanga and Vinyasa classes. 

Currently based in El Nido, Palawan, Bek aspires build a yoga community there, as well as share the love for yoga as she travels all around the world.

 

SUNRISE YOGA 

We'll begin the day by pausing in silence for a short mindfulness meditation and Pranayama (breathing excercises), followed by an invigorating yoga asana flow (either Ashtanga or Vinyasa style), to get the mind and body ready for the day's adventures. In each class, we'll work on lengthening and strengthening the whole body while incorporating our breath with our dynamic movements. Each session is open-level, so whether you are a beginner or advanced practitioner, you'll definitely enjoy and benefit from this practice.


SUNSET YOGA 

To help the mind and body wind down from a day full of activities, we'll slow things down with a relaxing Yin Yoga practice. In this class, we'll hold passive poses for longer periods of time with the help of yoga props, helping us target the deeper areas of the body - the fascias, ligaments, and joints. We'll end each class with a short Yoga Nidra practice, where we'll practice complete mind and body relaxation and rest through a guided body scan to helping the body get ready for the sleep state.
