Start Your Day Right

Start Your Day Right

In the book the Magic by Rhonda Byrne, one of its exercise is “magic morning”. This book is a practice of gratitude and in the magic morning you start your thank-you’s before getting off the bed to your first step to the bathroom until you are off to daily errands. Appreciating everything around you and reach your senses.

Why you think this magical and highly effective book included a gratitude practice through the “magic morning” focus? Simple, it is to remind us that starting our day right sets the whole day of positivity and immense happiness.

To start the day with Yoga practice gives plenty benefits you will enjoy.

Though Yoga is good anytime of the day, making time in the morning and ticking it off your must-do list seems to have surprising special effects.

Here below are few reasons behind the significance of Yoga morning practice.

MOVEMENT

  1. Lengthens and stretches the tight muscles
  2. Activate immune system
  3. Better blood circulation
  4. Enable the brain to function

Your body in the morning is probably stiff, heavy and weak from the whole night rest. Slow and deep movement is sufficient to wake your body, starting from small stretching of your arms, legs and back. Quick and simple ways that will send signal from your muscles to the brain, engaging and activating your whole being.

An hour or less of Yoga flow will activate and energize your body, including your internal systems. As you lengthen through breath you stretch out the gravity that pulls you back to bed. And through continuous movement you pump up your heart, making the blood freely flow entirely in your body causing better blood circulation. As you move along intentionally warming and energizing the body, you’ll awake the built in army in your body a.k.a. immune system. The blood as well goes up to the brain, just like fuel on vehicle, turning on all of you.

Few moments of these then you have already done so much of your day, gearing you for a day full of activities.

MORNING BOOST

  1. Boost mood and make you smile
  2. Boost brainpower and improves productivity
  3. Consistent in a new and good habit
  4. Sleep faster and wake up earlier
  5. Enhance metabolism and guilt-free food eating

Yoga in the morning, gentle or dynamic flow, create an impact into your mind, body and soul. Your mind is fully functional, your body is alert and energize and the soul is surely happy.

Starting the day right boosts your brainpower, it will make you manage decision making better, analyze situations better, and boosts your confidence and overall mood.  Productivity follows with creativity and strong will. Now that you have win over procrastination and laziness by doing your Yoga in the morning everything else is achievable for the rest of the day.

Practicing Yoga in the morning develop your self-discipline to consistently show up to the new healthy habit. Implanting this virtue and putting into the intention of showing up to the morning flow reorient the body and your sleeping pattern. Sleeping early and falling into deep sleep will become easier and faster. There will less of internal struggle upon waking up because the body will remember its waking time.

In the progress, your metabolism will be better too! You will be able to enjoy some food you love to eat while not worrying of breaking your desired weight. Of course, with mindful consumption you’ll surely be fine. After all you deserve a treat after ticking off a great job first thing of the day.

MINIMIZED CAFFEINE

  1. Yoga will help you get through the day without a cup coffee
  2. Yoga have no downtime or side effects
  3. Yoga don’t disturb your sleep rather makes it better

Happiness is a cup of coffee.

Wake up and smell the coffee.

Coffee is always a good idea.

The smell. The warmth. The savor. Almost always, coffee is a good idea.

Sometimes, we use a shot of caffeine to wake the sleeping body. They said some good things that comes with drinking coffee and how widely the habit of having coffee while working is. The “kick” we got from a cup of coffee is nice. But showing up every morning with Yoga is better.

Too much of coffee in our system is also bad. It’s addictive, triggers anxiety, palpitations, disturb sleep and most of the time, costly. The act becomes addiction. The coffee, when too strong or not the right fit causes irregular heart rhythm and heart muscles contract as if you are on a race. Caffeine affects your sleep and turning into fewer hours. And yes, drinking coffee is an expensive habit especially a daily cup of Sbucks (you know what we mean).

You can now minimize your caffeine consumption by making time for Yoga. With a morning practice, again it will boost your energy level, wake up mind and body, boost brainpower, clear your mind by emptying your thoughts, enhances thinking capabilities and pushes procrastination away.

Moreover, Yoga is always a good and better idea.

MENTAL CLARITY

Your morning Yoga flow will not be the same as always, and will certainly will be peculiar from others.

Yoga is a flexible practice to address your personal needs and preferences. Your Yoga flow maybe a 3 sets of Suryanamaskar (Sun Salutation) or series of fire of breathe in a sitting position. Wherever you may be, the end is the same. That after the morning practice, you came out of your posture with mental clarity.

When you don’t have mental clarity, your mind is a float in lake of thoughts with no anchor, clouded and unsteady. Imagine walking with no exact destination. Intending do this but ended doing something else. Merely existing not living with a purpose.

Consistently showing up for your Yoga morning practice cultivates a healthy lifestyle and a meaningful life purpose. Regular Yoga practice is transformational in ways more than one. The mind is restless yet it can be train to focus at one-point, learn to observe thoughts, let go of things that no longer deserves you, and maintain peace within you.

MORNING ME Time

Mornings are perfect time to spend with your significant ones, especially with yourself. In morning you’ll find solidarity, peace, sunrise and new opportunities.

A majority of successful people spends an hour or so of their morning solely. They took time to journal, review appointments of the day, review goals and priorities of the day, see fit for adjustments and realign self with positive affirmations. Once your get off to work, expect you’ll rarely find a time for yourself; bombarded with notifications, phone calls, emails and messages to respond to.

Quiet time. Time alone. Time to think. Time to write. Yoga time. Time solely for you.

Time you will only find in the morning.

There you go. Movement, morning boost, minimized caffeine, mental clarity and ME time! Few reasons but plenty of benefits of why you should start your day right. Of why you should start your day with Yoga.

How’s your coffee today? Try switching it with some Yoga poses and breathing techniques. Then tell us how your morning went by…
